Meet The Founder

Katie Stoeckeler

Raised in Ellenville, Katie moved to Piermont, New York in 2012 and opened Peace in Piermont (PiP) in 2019. At PiP, Katie teaches children, adults, and families ways of de-stressing and living in the present moment.

After noticing the impact of her teachings and feeling inspired to share them with a broader audience, Katie began creating a book series. The Give Your Brain A Bath Book series aims to teach readers both the importance of practicing self-care and various methods of doing so to increase self-awareness and one’s ability to self-regulate. So far, she’s published three books: Let’s Sit Down and Meditate, How Yoga Saved Christmas, and Let’s Have an Attitude of Gratitude.

Katie is actively working to make self-care more accessible by expanding her books into a television series and by developing an elementary-based curriculum. In April 2022, Katie launched a nonprofit, Peace in Ellenville (PiE), to spread mindful practices to her hometown!

MEET THE TEAM

Gisele Brown

Gisele is a yoga instructor, as well as a health and wellness educator. She aims to give students a judgement free space to explore yoga and its transformational power. Her teaching method is nourishing and inviting to everyone with a focus on the health of the joints of the spine, alignments and self-awareness.

Gisele received her 200 YTT from the American Yoga Academy with Claire Diab. She also had the amazing opportunity to receive my 300 YTT advanced certificate at Yoga Shanti Studio with Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee. These trainings allowed Gisele to combine Iyengar teaching style, vinnyasana, and focusing on alignment, as well as a deep understanding of pranayama practice, mindfulness, and meditation.

“The practice of yoga and the study of its philosophy has transformed me and how I live my life. It is my great passion to pass on to my students all the transformative tools of this practice. I believe that help and serve is the path to peace and freedom, and that is my approach with my students in each class. When I am not on my mat, I like to go for long walks, ride my bike, be in nature, have a good conversation, read, and take care of my family. Nutrition is another passion of mine, and I am always looking for an opportunity to cook a healthy and fun meal. I believe that our health is our biggest possession.”

Telisha Bryan

Telisha Bryan has been a yoga and Pilates mat instructor in Westchester County, N.Y., for the past six years. She began her yoga and Pilates journey as she looked for low-intensity ways to stretch and strengthen her muscles while dealing with back pain. In her yoga teaching, she usually conducts hatha, gentle and yin classes, focusing on pranayama, or breathwork, as well as spiritual lessons. With Pilates, she specializes in teaching beginner and intermediate students. Her favorite yoga pose is reclined pigeon, and her Pilates fave is one-leg circles. She is on Instagram @Telishatheyogi, and she also writes a twice-monthly newsletter dealing with all things concerning mental and physical wellness.

Faye Rex

Faye Rex is a 500+HR yoga teacher based in NYC and the Lower Hudson Valley. To her, Yoga mollifies the present moment, which is never held static but articulated through subtle body movement and intellectual agility. Faye’s inherent grasp of human connection and compassion, mixed with her knowledge of the subtle body and nervous system, make her practice tender, dynamic, and powerful.

Faye is a nurturer, gentle, steady, and loyal, so after graduating from acting school at NYU, it’s no wonder she took to the patient practice of Yoga.

Faye received her two 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certifications from both Greenhouse Holistic and Sky Ting Yoga, and has trained with Paul Grilley for Yin, Alex Sharry and Abbie Galvin for Katonah Yoga, Abby Paloma for Restorative, Moms Do Yoga for Pre/Postnatal and Ally Bogard & Elena Brower for Meditation.

Chrissy Braun

Chrissy discovered yoga over 20 years ago, initially to offset her marathon training and then at a deeper level when she began to understand how transformative it can be. She obtained her YTT-200 through Westchester Yoga Arts in New Rochelle and continues to deepen her practice by sharing her love of yoga with others. She has experience teaching vinyasa and hatha as well as chair and family yoga. She cares deeply about creating positive experiences to help people connect with themselves and the world around them. She aims to facilitate welcoming, fun, and accessible yoga classes where students feel empowered to explore, grow, embrace their authenticity, and simply find joy in movement. Chrissy has lived in Massachusetts, London, and New York City. Having been a city girl most of her adult life, she now resides in Westchester with her husband and two cats. When she is off the yoga mat, you’ll often find her outdoors year-round, either on a run or paddling on the Hudson River.

Minna Koo

Minna fell in love with yoga after college when she was introduced to “Hip Hop Yoga” class in Boston by Goldie Graham. Minna’s classes harmoniously weave creative vinyasa sequences with thoughtfully designed music playlists. Minna received her first 200hr yoga teaching training certification from Atmananda Yoga in 2013 and continued to practice with Jamie Surya for her second 200hr yoga teacher training in 2019. She shares her love for yoga, art, and music with her loving husband and two daughters.
